Autumn Meeting and Walk Totternhoe, 26/11/2019

Tuesday 26th November 2019.

The Meeting

A walk meet was arranged at the Old Farm Inn, Totternhoe on 26/11/19 at 11.00.

It was decided that we could do a small walk around Totternhoe Knolls and then return to the pub for some food and drink and a natter. Eight of us went for the walk, meeting Dick upon our return later in the pub.

We set out about 11.15 walking via Green Lane, around the perimeter of the disused quarry, and then down the old railway track (Leighton Buzzard to Dunstable now called 'The Sewell Greenway'). The intention was to climb up the Knolls and then return to the Old Farm Inn, however due to time moving on we had to cut out the knolls and return via a slightly shorter route.

On the old railway track (now disused and part of a walk) Roland realised he had an old picture when the railway lines were in place at the very same spot we had turned onto the path (see pics).

We returned to the pub around 13.00 where we met Dick.

The meeting went well with some good beers (Fullers Pub) and good food.

The next walk (June) looks like it will be around Iron Bridge/Telford. Paul is currently organising. It was also decided to hold a Christmas walk meet on the 11/12/19 at the Gary Cooper in Dunstable. Early starters (19.00) could sample the Christmas Fayre or turn up later for a drink.
